God Has a Word About What We are Eating...

Good evening friends - I know!  It has been quite a while since my last post, but God has been busy, and I have started listening a little closer! I wanted to give you some special words of encouragement from Our Father. Not that I am anyone special that He spoke to me; but more that I had to make a choice to listen closer-listen more often- and listen more intently-with a purpose in my heart to seek His Face through His Words. I offer this to you in the hopes that His Words will help you grow closer to Him and His Peace for your life.

He spoke to me one Thursday evening saying, "Remember Daniel and..."  - Well...I was distracted and didn't get the rest of His message.  For the rest of the evening, I was quiet, and more than remorseful that I "missed it"!  Because He loves us so much...Friday evening He spoke again, "Remember Daniel and Nebuchadnezzar." I was so thankful! My mind was just racing - mostly because I was so very thankful that He was gracious and loving and decided to give me yet another chance!!! So - I sat down and immediately began reading Daniel. I thought, "He must have a message for me in the book of Daniel." Daniel, first chapter...that was as far as I got. Actually, Daniel 1:8 was my Rhema Word- and your Word of encouragement. Daniel 1:8 tells us, "But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way" (NIV Rainbow Study Bible).

After He stopped me right on this verse, The Holy Spirit began to speak into my Spirit saying, "Do not eat of the food of the world's table." I asked Him, what food am I to be wary of Lord? Anyone that knows me knows my love of everything luscious, delectable, and tasty. However, He was quick to say, "Fear is the food of the world." Well, I could have been knocked over with a whisper from an angel's wing! Now, think about this- we eat fear like it's going out of style, and the enemy steadily sets us up at the table of fear. Fear immobilizes us over relationships, money, the future. God wants us to eat from His Table - THE KING OF KING's TABLE! What food does He serve? Peace, joy, - you know - all the fruit of the Spirit! Next Time you find yourself 'fearful' - ask yourself - is this food that will grow you closer to God? Fear can do that - but God wants you to remember, "He who dwells   in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty." Psalm 91:1 (NIV Rainbow Study Bible).

If we are "...resting with The Almighty," whatever fear you are experiencing will be handled by The Almighty!  Psalm 23 tells us, "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies." That's the table He is guiding us towards; He is truly wanting you to 'resolve' - to not eat of the food of the world's table. Don't allow the enemy to decieve you about what to eat. He did that one time - and look what it caused!
